Slater surprised me for my birthday, and we had the best day! My birthday was the 5th, but we both had the day off from work on the 4th. I love Waco, so he planned an entire "Waco day" to surprise me for my birthday. I felt SO loved that he put so much thought and planning into celebrating me!
He made me breakfast in bed...fruit with honey, best omelette of my life (avocado, yellow bell pepper, tomatoes, spices, chipotle cheddar cheese), coffee, and water.
At each thing, he would give me an envelope to open that would tell me what our next activity would be. He is so thoughtful!
After breakfast, he took me to the Cameron Park Zoo! We had so much fun looking at all of the different animals together.
Next, we went to the Dr. Pepper Museum. It was our first time there. We even got a Dr. Pepper made from a soda jerk the original way!
Then we rented a canoe and canoed together down the river! We pulled the canoe up to Buzzard Billys which has a dock on the river. We tied up our canoe and just walked right up to the restaurant. We ate appetizers on the deck overlooking the river. When we were done, we canoed back. It was so unique and fun!
After appetizers, we went to Common Grounds coffee shop and read books. :)
For dinner, he took me to the Lake Waco Marina to eat at the Slippery Minnow. There was a live band and it was fun!
To end the day, we went downtown to watch the fourth of July fireworks show! We were able to sit on the roof of a downtown business and had a great view.
It was the best day ever!! We had a blast together. Oh, but to end the perfect day, a bird pooped on my head during the fireworks show. Apparently the booms of fireworks scare the birds. There was a mass exodus of them and one pooped on my head as they flew away! Sick.
That night, a couple of my friends threw a girls dessert party for me. It was so sweet to hang out with good friends on my bday!
I highly recommend all of the Waco activities! (except the bird poop.)
Last weekend, my parents came to Waco Friday night through Saturday afternoon to celebrate my birthday and my dad's birthday which is three days before mine. We had a great Saturday eating breakfast, going to the farmer's market downtown, me getting a pedicure with my mom and Slater and dad going on a mountain bike ride, and then all going to lunch together before they left. Here we are at the farmers market. My daddy bought me a bouquet of wildflowers. :) My parents are so lavish in their love for others and I love hanging out with them!
Thank you to my thoughtful husband, sweet friends, and loving family for celebrating me!
